What happens when the owner of a clothing store and the life of the party throw a wedding? There was a pizza party (on national pizza party day), the most amazing venue/details you'll ever see, someone mooned all of the guests (it may or may not have been the groom), speeches turned into roasts, they partied hard, and loved even harder. As soon as Kaylyn contacted me 9 months ago I instantly knew what songs/concepts I wanted to use for their film. It turned out even better than I expected.
If you choose to get married in a place this epic, you're already a dream client. Couple that with the nicest, most down to earth bride and groom and I'd say I'm pretty dang lucky. Thanks for making my job easy Amber and Zach!
It was a day full of driving, telling stories, waiting out the rain, playing yahtzee, lots of laughter, and the perfect night cap, pizza. Ciara and Conor are good friends of mine and the best clients. They've been great friends since freshman year of high school and didn't realize they belong together for 4 whole years. They also didn't realize they had neighboring cabins at Mt. Baker. Like directly. Across. The. Street. If that isn't fate then I don't know what is.
Cortney and Maurice were one of the most laid back, and happiest couples I've been lucky enough to call clients. Their carefree and adventurous spirit just rubs off on everyone around them. Have you ever been chilling with someone and hours go by before you realize that you haven't even thought about your phone and you have a bunch of missed texts or emails, but you don't care because you're enjoying their company too much? I have a strong feeling that Cortney and Maurice have that effect on people because that's exactly how they made me feel. I also have some evidence. Not a SINGLE one of their guests were on their phone at all during the wedding. It made me so happy to know that they were all truly in the moment, and it made my job of capturing raw emotions so easy! I could go on about how in love Cortney and Maurice are, about how insanely beautiful Orcas Island is, and about how amazing all of their details were, but I'll let you watch and see for yourself.
Santa Barbara, plus the chillest, most laid back bride and groom, plus perfect weather (but when isn't it in Santa Barbara?), plus an insane family owned venue, plus two German Shepherds (!!) is a recipe for success. My final wedding before traveling the world was a memorable one. Personally, idk if 2016 can be topped, but 2017 is off to a pretty good start!
My favorite part about shooting Christina and Aaron's engagement film was that when their wedding came around, I was already so comfortable with them. It felt like I just got to hang out with good friends all day. Their laid back attitudes and constant state of happiness is infectious. These are the type of people you want in your life!
Kym and Karim have gone from people I had a few mutual friends with, to clients, to some of my very best friends. I'm so thankful for them for so many reasons, but mostly for playing board games with me until midnight when they have work the next morning, letting me crash on their couch whenever, having the cutest puppy ever, always being down for anything (including amazing backpacking trips, hikes, and future international adventures), stuffing their faces with cookies with me, valuing photography and video, and laughing with me until we cry. I'm also so thankful for clients that trust my vision and allow me to experiment! I tried something a little different with this film and I think it's my best work yet!
When I think of my ideal wedding clients I think of people who are laid back, fun, and maybe a little goofy, and that describes Natasha and Mikhail perfectly! The weather held up despite the monsoon the day before. A beautiful location, good weather, and great clients. What more could you ask for?
From the moment Joely asked to meet me at Tutta Bella (instead of the usual coffee shop) I knew we would be a great match. Her and Travis were some of the nicest most welcoming people I've had the pleasure of working with. All of their friends and family came (mostly from eastern Washington and Pennsylvania) to this castle in Tacoma to celebrate their wedding day with them! Amy of Amy Tanton Designs (www.amytantondesigns.com) did such an amazing job putting this wedding together. The details were incredible!! Hope you like it!
I had such a great day with Shelleen and Abu. We got to run around wheat fields, paddle through the lake alongside a white swan, laugh and cry with friends and family, and let loose on the dance floor. Sometimes you can just tell when a couple's love runs so deep, that nothing will ever be able to separate them. That is Shelleen and Abu no doubt. They have been together for such a long time, I get the feeling they know each other better than anyone else in the world.
They say if you don't like the weather in Colorado then wait 10 minutes. This was definitely true on my first trip to this beautiful state. There was only a couple windows throughout the day where it stopped raining for Katalyn and Daniel. Those windows just so happened to be for the entire ceremony, and during the dancing. Not only is rain good luck on your wedding day but it also makes for amazing puddle reflections that make me a happy filmmaker. Being as in love as these two clearly are doesn't hurt either.
When you get to shoot the most amazing couple in the mountains at sunset. Check out my latest work of Kym and Karim, the coolest couple around with the most amazing story ever. These guys are doing it right and I can't wait to shoot their wedding in a couple months!
I'm so excited to shoot Christina and Aaron's wedding in October! Great people with a great story. They're going to show this film at their reception so that all their guests can learn little bit more about them and their amazing relationship!
We definitely lucked out on this shoot! As we pulled up to our location it started pouring even though the forecast said it would be clear. Welcome to Washington. We figured we would wait it out and if we got a little break in the rain we could run out and squeeze in a few shots. Our break from the rain came after a while and lasted for the rest of the night!

This is a reel of my favorite shots from some of the weddings I filmed in 2015. A lot of time went into making this reel and I am proud of how it turned out. So many magical moments in one year. I can't thank all of these couples enough for letting me capture their special day.
Katie and Evan were just the best. They were some of the friendliest, most welcoming people I have ever met. Katie got in contact with me about shooting their wedding two weeks prior and I think we are both very thankful that she did! I bumped my flight back a few days for my vacation to California and it was more than worth it. I guess technically I was "working" but it felt like I just got to hang out with a bunch of friends all day.
